Zoey Erixon, LISW, CADC is a licensed social worker. They received their MSW (Masters in Social Work) from the University of Iowa's Des Moines campus in 2020. They are an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and Certified  Alcohol and Drug Counselor through the State of Iowa. They have completed advanced EMDR trainings in ego states, complex trauma and dissociation and additional training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). 

Zoey has been providing mental health therapy in a private practice setting since 2022. Prior to that, Zoey worked for three years as mental health therapist and direct care provider at a residential treatment program for women and their children. She has extensive experience providing individual, group and family therapy, as well as nondirective play therapy. She has experience facilitating groups and individual sessions focusing on topics such as substance use/early recovery skills, complex trauma, relationships, emotional intensity, and parent-child relationships.

Through their practice at ZE Therapy Services, Zoey is committed to providing care that is gender-affirming and promotes health at every size principles. As a relational-cultural and trauma-informed therapist, Zoey is attuned to the impact of systemic inequality on mental health and focuses on helping clients find a balance between acceptance and change. Therapy is focused on exploring root causes of suffering, rather than merely treating symptoms.

 

Zoey cares deeply about social work values and providing ethical substance use treatment through a harm reduction lens. Zoey has taught at Grandview University in Des Moines, Iowa as a lecturer since 2024.
